Veterinary Officers Association

    The Association:
  • provides a permanent and accepted system of formal communications between the Association and Departments of State on all matters relating to remuneration and conditions of employment of the members
  • protects and promotes the interests of members, to maintain and improve the conditions of their employment, and to provide and maintain such services for the benefit of members as may be approved from time to time.

Membership: A Veterinary Surgeon who is an employee of a Department of State including those on approved career breaks or secondment is eligible for membership. Retired pensionable members become Honorary Associate Members of the Association

The Veterinary Officers Association represents 314 members employed in the State Veterinary Service of The Civil Service and Public Sector.
The Association is a registered trade union affiliated to the Irish Congress of Trade Unions.
The current Negotiating Secretary is Mr Sean O'Riordain, MSc. Mgnt. B.L.
